About the Item
Atelier Sonja Wasseur Handmade Leather Lounge Chair and Ottoman Set, Netherlands.
In 1982, Wasseur set up her own design studio in Amsterdam, concentrating on the design of carpets and textiles for interiors. She has worked with prestigious clients such as Danskina, Kvadrat, and Hella Jongerius. Wasseur has a very personal approach to design, in which she uses traditional craft techniques to create durable, high-quality products. She is particularly known for her innovative use of color, texture and materials. In 2013, Wasseur was named Designer of the Year in the Netherlands. Her creations have been featured in numerous design exhibitions, including at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
