About the Item

Classy yet casual, this falcon lounge chair designed by Sigurd Ressell is in excellent condition. This iconic example of Norwegian design features a chrome flat bar X-base frame with black leather seats supported by a suspended sling, similar to a hammock, attached to the frame via chrome hooks. This particular example features a more rare cushion that drapes over the seat back and seat front which is an incredibly cool style and look. Note, we can disassemble this to ship via FedEx freight which costs less with faster transit, simply select the option for discounted freight if you are willing to reassemble the frame which is very simple to do. Designed by Sigurd Ressell in 1971 for Vatne Mobler in Norway. A popular easy chair, many variations were created with different materials, shapes and colors. This chrome example was produced under license by International Mobel Group which is a Scandinavian company owned by Ekornes. We believe this example to be produced in the 1990s but could be newer. Wood frame versions in the 1970s were produced by Vatne Mobler. This hammock sling chair by Sigurd Resell would work great in a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian Modern or Danish Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Postmodern room. Also consider mixing it up in a traditional, transitional, classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. This Sigurd Ressel Falcon chair would also be an Apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. Consider using as side chairs, cafe or breakfast table chairs, bedside chair, fireside chair, dressing or changing room chair, hallway chair, entryway or mudroom chair, nursing or reading chair, conference room chairs, office or desk chair, guest chairs, lobby chairs, lounge chairs or occasional chairs ideal in virtually any setting.
