About the Item
This chair came to exist out of a 1960's Peace Corps initiative to aid local crafts people in Ecuador, with the assistance of Scandinavian designers, to produce and export furniture using local woods and hand tooled leather. The chair is held together with wooden pegs so was intended to break down for ease of shipment.
I also have a rocking chair version of this chair in a darker finish.
No label present but I have seen this chair before with a gold foil label which reads: "Ebanisteria T. Caivinagua Cuenca Ecuador"
