About the Item

Ergo antropovarius reclining lounge chair designed by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche for Poltrona Frau, Italy 1982. The chair was designed in collaboration with the Institute for Ergonomics at Munich University and features a series of ‘spine’ elements that are adjustable to provide comfort and support. The chair reclines using a side joystick lock-and-release mechanism. The design is based on a series of experiments on different sitting profiles, determined in part by different body sizes. A system of adjustable rib-elements is attached to a carbon profile modeled on the human spine using quick release fasteners, allowing not only classical variability in terms of tilting of the headrest, backrest and leg supports but also complete adjustment to any individual sitting profile. This lounge chair has a structure made of PVC-covered steel linked by a carbon fiber sheet, leather-covered steel armrests and foot, sitting is upholstered in soft white leather. In perfect good condition. About Ferdinand Alexander Porsche: nicknamed “Butzi”, son of Ferry Porsche, grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, was a German designer whose best known product was the first Porsche 911. While his grandfather and father were both engineers, he was more involved in working out the appearance of a product. Rare lounge chair, Artelano and Samuel Coriat, France, Circa 1986
Located in PARIS, FR
Rare lounge chair in black leather and black lacquered metal, with tilt adjustment system using a locking screw. This lounge chair designed by Samuel Coriat began in 1986 and benefits from exceptional comfort and design. Artelano : Founded by Samuel Coriat. Thirty-three years ago, he left Havas to found his own brand and design his first furniture. If he's just starting out, his style is already firmly defined: basic shapes and pure lines served by materials like glass, metal and lacquered wood. This taste for simplicity will subsequently guide his choices. His business is doing well but Samuel Coriat wants to take a step forward: he wants to become a publisher, that is to say, collaborate with designers on projects, from design to sale, including manufacturing. He contacts creators whose work, he thinks, matches what he likes. The first to be called, in 1987, was Pascal Mourgue. He then signed his first collection, “Atlantique”, for Artelano. The collaboration between the two men will continue and give birth to other creations. After the Italians Paolo Deganello, in 1992, and Carlo Bartoli, in 1993, Samuel Coriat worked in 1994 with the Frenchman Olivier Gagnère, for whom he produced the chairs and armchairs which today furnish the Café Marly...
