About the Item
One sold and one available.
A rare French colonial armchair, monogrammed L.V. Nancy, 1944. Thoughtfully constructed in solid wood with visible joinery and a bold, architectural frame, the chair reveals quiet gestures—an angled backrest, gently sloped arms, and stretcher bars that lend structure and stability.
Upholstered in supple cognac leather, the three-part back and wide seat offer tonal warmth against the dark timber—smooth, softly luminous, and rich with presence. An evocative piece, equally suited to a reading corner, study, or as a sculptural accent in a larger living space.
Condition: Great vintage condition. The leather upholstery is newer and remains clean and supple. Wear is primarily visible on the wooden frame, more prominent at the legs and joints, with minor indentations, scuffs, and surface marks consistent with age. Natural wood splits are present but do not affect the structure or integrity of the piece. All joints remain sound.
