About the Item

A rare, exotic French Mid-Century Modern neoclassical lounge chair or armchair The chair is composed of hand forged wrought iron and has a modern neoclassical 'Curile' form with chain armrests, large brass ball finials and a stunning backrest. The dramatic canopy is in mauve mohair velvet that has aged with beautiful patina. Literature: There is a similar style model in Jean Royere, Pierre-Emmanuel Martin-Vivier, Editions Norma, Paris, 2002, p. 8.
