About the Item
If you are reading this then I'm sure we agree that this is a simple yet stunning chair so let us tell you what little we know about it. It is a 1970s lounge chair designed by George Mergenov and manufactured by Weiman / Warren Llyod circa 1970. From what we have found online the suggestion is that Mergenov’s work often features clean lines, geometric shapes, and functional elegance, blending modern aesthetics with practicality. He is influenced by Scandinavian and Japanese design principles, emphasizing simplicity and craftsmanship.
I think we can all agree that he certainly did like clean lines and geometric shapes etc etc but why did we buy this chair - the answer is super simple - we bought it because it's really stunning and pretty much perfect in this mustard velvet fabric. The three chrome lines on the side are evocative of the art deco period and add a lovely simple design cue to the piece that in our opinion make it timeless and elegant. If you like this chair then it can be yours, we can ship this anywhere in the world and you can look at it and enjoy it for the rest of your life.
