George Nakashima Lounge Chair with Right Arm made in the Nakashima Studio, 1977 American black walnut with hickory spindles, single slab arm with one free edge and single slab seat 84cm high, 81cm wide, 71cm deep Sold with a digital copy of the original order card. In excellent condition, lightly refinished to restore the original beauty of the wood. George Nakashima (1905-1990) was a renowned American woodworker and furniture designer known for his handcrafted, organic designs. Blending Japanese and American aesthetics, he celebrated natural wood imperfections, creating timeless, functional art. His pieces emphasise craftsmanship, simplicity, and a spiritual connection to nature, making them highly valued in modern and traditional interiors alike.
