About the Item

Striking pair of 'Star' lounge chairs designed by Giorgio Saporiti for Il Loft, Italy, and distributed by Atelier International. These sculptural Italian Post-Modern chairs feature Saporiti’s signature bold geometry and playful use of proportion, with oversized armrests, a wide seat, and a distinctive contrasting back cushion. The backs tilt to multiple positions, offering customizable comfort while maintaining the clean architectural lines for which Il Loft is celebrated. Upholstered in vivid orange fabric with taupe back cushions, the chairs are elevated on polished chrome cylindrical legs, giving them a sleek, airy presence. Both retain their original “Made in Italy for Atelier International” labels, affirming their provenance and quality craftsmanship. A statement in postmodern and contemporary Italian design, these chairs embody the innovation and sophistication of late 20th-century furniture. Perfect for a modern living room, creative office lounge, or high-style studio, they showcase the harmonious blend of form, function, and flexibility. Highly collectible and rarely found as a pair, they exemplify Giorgio Saporiti’s visionary approach for Il Loft where comfort is never sacrificed for style. Pair of Club Chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani Italy, c 1970, Signed
By Claudio Salocchi, Sormani
Located in Los Angeles, CA
This newly reupholstered pair of club chairs by Claudio Salocchi for Sormani, circa 1970s, features graceful chrome frames with nubby white bouclé fabric. Signed with 1960s/ 1970s Sormani label as shown in photo gallery. *Note, we have the matching sofa available in another listing. The graceful frames share a design quality with Cassina's LC2 / LC3 design by Le Corbusier, as they are 'buckets of cushions' in similar fashion and comfort. However these Sormani lounge chairs feature some unique subtle details, such as the slight "twist" in the rear legs (see photos). Signed with a Sormani label, this particular rare design is attributed to Claudio Salocchi. While there were several other famous designers who created works for Sormani in this time period, the style best matches Salocchi's work. For collectors looking for something unique and rare within a collection of 1960s/ 1970s Italian designs, this pair of easy chairs are an amazing opportunity. These Cassina LC2 / LC3 style chairs...
