About the Item

The CH25 lounge chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner in 1950 for Carl Hansen and Son. It is one of the earliest models in Wegner’s lounge chair series and has remained in continuous production since its introduction. The frame is made of solid wood, shaped with curved armrests and a slightly reclined back to provide a relaxed seating position. The seat and back are handwoven from paper cord, a material Wegner selected for its strength, durability, and ability to maintain tension over time. Each chair requires several hours of manual weaving and uses more than 400 meters of cord. The CH25 reflects typical Danish modern standards of craftsmanship, and the chair is intended for everyday use in living spaces, reading areas, or lounge environments. Origination: Denmark, 2000s. Labelled by manufacturer. Condition: Good condition, some signs of use as per images. Materials: Oiled wood Approximate dimensions: Width: 70 cm Depth: 73 cm Height: 73 cm Seating height: 36 cm
