About the Item
A super-stylish, extremely comfortable and very rare two-tone Italian designer leather armchair in lovely vintage condition. Designed by Nicoletti Salotti and produced by high-end Italian firm Avanti in the 1980s, this strikingly attractive Ambassador armchair will add superb quality and a classy and bold Post-Modern aesthetic to any interior.
Impressively sized and gorgeously toned, this fabulous statement armchair is extremely comfortable and large enough to use as a snuggle chair.
Salotti’s confident and eye-catching design ensures this chair is a real show-stopper when viewed from any angle. The seat, back and arm cushions are stitched into sections and finished in beautiful quality padded leather, while the imposing sleigh legs wrap around the back. The angular seat base and back base wrap around the sitter and are finished in stunning red leather, with this colour contrast really making an impact and enhancing the bold 1980s aesthetic.
Ambassador chairs are rare and much sought after for their unique and daring design and this one has an especially rare colour-scheme, which sets it apart and enriches its Post-Modern, Memphis-style aesthetic. All in all it’s a wonderful and stunning armchair, which won’t fail to add exquisite comfort levels and a stunning impact to any setting.
CONDITION
This is in good vintage condition. Impressively sized, reassuringly heavy and structurally sound, as you’d expect from a top Italian designer and manufacturer, this chair oozes quality. It shows only minor to-be-expected signs of wear and use including some minor marks to the seat and back and some light scratches to the left arm rest. The leather has been treated to keep it rejuvenated and looking its best. Overall it's a wonderful chair in lovely vintage condition and if well looked after it should be just as magnificent for generations to come – please see the photos.
