About the Item
Italian side or desk chair attributed to Paolo Buffa. The graceful lines of the arms and legs are reminiscent of Buffa. As found in the the warm rust orange mohair. Bought with a second chair that is almost identical but has some construction differences. Same wood, same upholstery. Please see 1st dibs listing LU819847290222
Paolo Buffa (Milan 1903-1970), architect and designer, worked in the field of furniture design. Trained in the studio of Gio Ponti and Lancia, from where he borrowed elements of neoclassical inspiration, in 1928, Buffa opened his own studio with Cassi Ramelli. In 1930 together they participated in the 4th International Exhibition of Decorative Arts (future Triennale), with a project for a "modern villa".
