Jindrich Halabala, lounge chairs, model 'H269', nubuck leather, stained beech, Czech Republic, 1930s. Extraordinary easy chairs by Jindrich Halabala upholstered in a durable grey colored nubuck leather. These armchairs have a very dynamic and abundant appearance and the grey leather upholstery gives them a natural and sincere appearance. Beautifully curved armrests and base in dark stained beech, which complements with the upholstery in a natural way. The design is unequaled in sculptural appearance and terse form. Please note that the depicted photographs of this chair shows the final result of what the items will look like after reupholstery. The price on offer is valid for this final result, including fabric and labor. The refinished item has a current lead-time of twelve to fourteen weeks and will be performed by our experienced craftspeople in our in-house restoration atelier. More about the designer Jindrich Halabala was born on May 24, 1903 in Korycany into the family of carpenter Štepán Halabala, whose craft he learned in a family business between 1918 and 1920. He then joined the State Czechoslovak Vocational School for Wood Processing in Valašské Mezirící, which he graduated from two years later. After school, he started practicing at the United UP races, where he met their founder Jan Vanek.
