About the Item

Rare pair of Safari leather armchairs and a matching coffee table. Designed in 1959 by Karl Heinz Bergmiller for Escriba Furniture Brazil. A copy of which is held at The Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) Thick hide leather in dark brown color, set on a Brazilian hardwood frame. Accompanied by a matching wooden coffee table. The table is designed for the wooden slats to be removable. The chairs can be flat packed for ease of transport. Both table and chairs are in very good vintage condition. The table shows some naturally occurring patina to the wood (all of which adds to its charm). The leather is supple with no rips or damage. The table alone measures 38cm high x 58cm deep x 66cm wide.
