About the Item

Very rare EPS chair in a limited edition of 500 pieces in grey polystyrene (packing material) designed by Tom Dixon for the London Design Festival in 2006 for an event called "The Great Chair Grab". 500 of these chairs were put on Trafalgar Square and was given away for free to the first 500 people who turned up. It’s made by the EPS Packing Group in grey polystyrene which in some ways are a very fragile material. As it’s over 10 years since the event one could easily assume that most of the chair would be destroyed by now. Very few have ever occurred on the market which makes it even more unique and to this day no one knows how many chair are still in existence of the original 500. This chair is not really for sitting. It´s more considered a piece of art or sculpture and would be perfect for a museum or a collector. If one would use it, it would break pretty quick. It have some dents and marks but overall it's in a very good condition when the material and age is taken under consideration. It comes with the original paper that came along with the chair when it was new.
