About the Item
In the elegant and harmonious stylistic cipher of the Lorenz * Kaz duo we find, as always, a profound connection with the Bauhaus and Nordic design, blended with an unmistakable "South effect" that emerges in the use of colors and materials. This was Le Corbusier approach when reshaping ideas from the Bauhaus, through local conditions and influenced by Italian rationalism.
Structure in solid natural beech or matt lacquered upon request; padding in differentiated density polyurethane foam. Removable cover: Cat A (customer fabric); cat B cotton (Ivarsoft), Duffy linen-cotton blend, Nord Wool felt; cat C (wool Topia, Novum, red velvet).

“We love objects which own deep roots, excellent quality, and a strong evocative power”. Colé is a young Italian design brand, with a high-end production 100% made in Italy. Born from the experience of Matteo De Ponti, architect, who grew up in a historic Milanese design family, and the artistic sensibility of Laura Macagno, degree in Economics and passionate of art and design.
Our mission is to create design icons, suitable for furnishing the homes of sophisticated and international clients. Our expressive research is inspired by the Scandinavian design, the Bauhaus, the Italian architects of the '50s as well as ethnic handcraft, houses of famous writers of the XX century, suspended between present, past and future; the artists who wrote the code of modernity, as Mondrian, Sonia Delaunay, Moholy Nagy, Brancusi and the graphic genius of Escher. We love trips to far lands, starting from Argentina, Laura's birthplace, where our dream started. From there comes the name Colé, tied to a common memory: an element of color which makes us smile just thinking about it.

Vienna is an extraordinarily comfortable and elegant lounge armchair designed by Emmanuel Gallina who loves to quote Brancusi when saying that “simplicity is complexity resolved”. Inspired by Vienna at the end of the 19th century, then up to the 1950s by Marcel Gascoin, through the visions of the American E.J. Brussel. A tribute to Alfred Sloan’s American pragmatism joined to European styling and, in this particular case, to the renowned Italian talent constantly aiming to harmonize beauty and functionality.
In solid beech and straw, Vienna is a perfect combination between digital machines and handcraft. The structure is in solid beech. The back and sides in hand-braided Vienna straw fixed in a milling. Cushions in polyurethane foam in different densities. Removable lining in different fabric categories: cotton, felt, linen, eco-leather, wool, velvet or can be coated with C.O.M. fabric. Optional 2nd cushion available.
Finishing is in natural beech or beech painted walnut Canaletto.
