About the Item

This authentic Eames Lounge Chair Model 670 and Ottoman Model 671 set, crafted in 2007, exemplifies timeless mid-century modern design with its luxurious original cognac leather upholstery and striking white oak finish. The chair’s iconic sculpted form, paired with the matching ottoman, offers unparalleled comfort and style, enhanced by a sleek white oak shelf that adds functional elegance. The rich cognac leather, both softened and patinaed with age, complements the natural grain of the white oak, creating a warm, inviting aesthetic. Perfect for a living room, study, or collector’s space, this set remains a coveted classic, blending mid-century innovation with enduring sophistication. About Charles and Ray Eames (Designers): Charles (1907–1978) and Ray Eames (1912–1988) were an influential American design duo whose work shaped mid-century modern aesthetics. Based in the USA, the Eameses collaborated with Herman Miller to create iconic furniture, including the Lounge Chair Model 670 and Ottoman Model 671, first introduced in 1956. Known for their pioneering use of molded plywood, leather, and innovative manufacturing techniques, they combined functionality with artistic expression, earning widespread acclaim and numerous design awards. Their legacy continues to inspire collectors and designers worldwide. About Herman Miller (Manufacturer): Herman Miller, an American furniture company founded in 1905 and based in Michigan, USA, became a leader in modern design through its partnership with designers like Charles and Ray Eames. Renowned for producing the Eames Lounge Chair Model 670 and Ottoman Model 671 since 1956, the company is celebrated for its commitment to quality craftsmanship and innovative materials, including white oak and leather. Herman Miller’s pieces, including this 2007 set, remain highly sought after for their enduring style and historical significance in the design world. ---Dimensions--- Chair Width: 33 in / 83.82 cm Chair Depth: 36 in / 91.44 cm Chair Height: 31 in / 78.74 cm Seat Height: 17 in / 43.18 cm Arm Height: 20 in / 50.8 cm Ottoman Width: 26.5 in Ottoman Depth: 22 in Ottoman Height: 17 in This iconic set is in 100% original, vintage condition! The white oak plywood "shells" show minor signs of vintage wear such as nicks and scratches and minor pressure dings (all of which can be seen in the detail photos provided) but showing no gouges, stains or other damage and the woodgrains of the white oak are absolutely stunning in natural light. The caramel-toned leather too shows some signs of minor wear such as light scratches, minor pricks and abrasions (all of which can be seen in the detail photos provided). With that said there are no stains, odors or large tears present whatsoever. The chair reclines and swivels exactly as designed. The metal bases show only minor tarnishing and light surface nicks. This instantly recognizable set was literally built for comfort, is structurally sound and ready for a literal lifetime more of use.
