About the Item
Lounge chair in bentwood and white leather by designers Takashi Okamura and Erik Marquardsen, Nelo Sweden edition. Distinctive 1980s design.
Stamped on the frame of the plate by the manufacturer.
Thick black curved plywood structure with a canvas stretched like a hammock, to which a white leather seat is attached. This makes it very comfortable to sit in.
Some signs of age and wear on the original leather with small scratches.
Good overall vintage condition.
The base of the chair swivels 360°.
The design duo Takashi Okamura and Erik Marquardsen founded their studio Design O
M in the 1970s and were very active in the 1980s. They collaborated with several furniture brands such as Nelo in Sweden and Getama in Denmark.

O&M design. Since establishment of their design office in 1973 Okamura & Marquard- have been working for a number of Danish, Swedish, Italian, and Japanese manufacturers. Their main field is furniture design. They co-operation with Skipper Furniture in 1981 resulting in a large number of chair and sofa models for both private and public use.
Takashi Okamura, born 1949, graduated from Kuwasawa Design Institute, Tokyo, in 1971 and from the School of Applied Art, Copenhagen, in 1974.
