About the Item

Stunning original Mies Van der rohe M20 lounge chair made from wicker and chrome. The wicker is in a great vintage state. The chromed tubular steel frame has an ultra-modern style and contrasts with the wicker seat, which has a natural feel. Favored for its strength, lightness, and economic practicality, tubular-steel furniture became widely popular in the 1920s. The material's attributes made it well suited for this cantilevered design, which functions without the support of back legs. Innovations in chrome plating also proved revolutionary, producing a corrosion-resistant, silver-like surface for a fraction of the cost. These lounge chairs would make an eye-catching addition to any interior, such as a living room, family room, screening room, or office. It also perfectly fits in a hospitality or corporate location like a boutique hotel lobby, cocktail bar, members club, or luxury boutique. When you choose for used mid-century design, you use what is already there, making it sustainable. You may not give the furniture a second, but even a third or fourth life. Mid-century design furniture is often a high-quality product that lasts several lives for a reason. Some furniture has a rich history, and the story is still visible or tangible with some. The signs of wear give a glimpse into the previous owner's life.
