The Libro Chair — Gruppo DAM for Busnelli, 1970
A radical icon of Italian design history, the Libro chair by Gruppo DAM embodies the bold spirit of the 1970s avant-garde. Designed in 1970 for Busnelli, its sculptural form — folding like the pages of a book — challenges the boundaries between furniture and art.
This original edition (same as the MoMa edition) remains a rare piece of radical design history, merging conceptual vision with functional wit. Since this is an early original edition the signs of wear are consistant with age. Take a look at all the photos for the signs of wear
The steel of the frame has obvious wear, the faux leather has some stains and a small hole and a repaired small tear. The structure is in perfect condition, the chair can be used as a chair and can be adjusted in all the different shapes. The adjustable canvas strap which places the chair flat or in a triangle of different heights is structural good and also has some stains as does the canvas bottom. All visible in the photos
