About the Item
We are very proud to offer this outstanding rare lounge chair by jørgen kastholm. In more than 20 years of searching, dealing and collecting we only saw 2 of these big chairs. A white one with white base and a brown one with chromed base. According to phillips auctions only 2 have ever been produced. So maybe this is the one, that was sold at phillips in 2009. It comes from a collectors estate at rottach-egern. He bought worldwide, but no documentation about the origin has been found. This is a very rare opportunity to own something really rare.

Jørgen Kastholm
Jørgen Kastholm was born in Roskilde. Kastholm first trained as a smith but soon turned to furniture design. He attended the School for Interior Design in Copenhagen, where he studied under Finn Juhl. At the beginning of the 1960s, working in Lebanon, he was inspired to design the Scimitar Chair. He also furnished the SAS office there.
