Pair of Martin Visser lounge chairs in black leather
MFG: Spectrum, Holland 1965 / model SZ02
Dutch modernist chairs with chromed metal frame and thick black saddle leather seat and backrest. One chair is from the first production series. The other chair is from the second production series, with minor differences. Leather armrests vary slightly in length, buckles on back vary slightly, and the way the leather wraps the back varies slightly.
Materials: Chromed metal frame, black leather character enhanced by patina and wear.
Approx dims: 30"H x 24"W x 26.5"D / 13"SH x 17"SD.

Martin Visser
Martin Visser was a Dutch furniture-designer and art-collector. Visser started designing at a young age, but most of all he was an art collector. His collection contains works of a cobra, Anselm Kiefer and Keith Haring. His focus was on young and promising artists. The Kröller-Müller museum accommodates over 400 works of Vissers art-collection. Vissers's career as a designer started at department store De Bijenkorf. From 1955, he became head of production and design of ’t Spectrum. For this company, Visser designed numerous items, including the table.
