This incredible set of two (2) wingback armchairs and one (1) ottoman by Gerhard Berg for Stokke Fabrikker has an incredible patina with light leather distressing. For those who love aged leather, keep reading. This design by Gerhard Berg, produced by Stokke Fabrikker, was dubbed 'Classic' for its timeless and obvious Classic styling and Silhouette. Topped of with weighted dangles that hold the seat backs in place and give added styling. Deep and soft black leather that has been worn-in like an old baseball glove will satisfy all of you leather lovers out there, with tubular shaped wood legs, such incredible design with incredible comfort gives you, or your client, the ability to use this set of chairs and ottoman for so many uses, as a fireside chair, reading chair, chairs to watch a movie or soak in a view, the perfect set of his / her chairs, bedside chairs, living room or den chairs - or use anywhere that the perfect set of cozy and comfortable chairs are needed. This rare set is the perfect option for the Mid-Century Modern collector or interior designer trying to find that perfect chair for their client. These lounge chairs would work great in a Mid-Century Modern home or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a contemporary, Hollywood Regency or Postmodern room. Also consider mixing it up in a Traditional, Classical or Art Deco room with a splash of juxtaposition. Being highly durable, this set of arm chairs would also be an Apt choice in a commercial project such as a hotel lobby lounge or members club, creative design studio or high-rise executive office. About the designer: Gerhard Berg (b. 1927) completed his diploma thesis at the State Craft and Art Industry School in 1953, while working briefly for Ingmar Relling. In 1954 he was employed as a draftsman at Vatne Lenestolfabrikk. Berg's interest in new materials in the furniture industry is expressed through his work on several fiberglass seat shells. From the mid-1950s, Berg designed for several furniture manufacturers including LK Hjelle where he designed the overstuffed furniture series 'Norse' and for PI Langlo the Japanese influenced 'Series 1800'. Stokke produced several of Berg's furniture classics, including the 'Aksla' armchair, the 'Classic' armchair and sofa / couch and the furniture series 'Kubus'. Education: 1953 - Diploma, State Craft and Art Industry School Awards and awards: 1958 - 2nd prize, Askim Gummivarefabrikk's competition Condition: Light distressing in the leather, mostly concentrated in the arms.
