Rare pair of ‘Kaïdo’ lounge chairs by by Kwok Hoï Chan for Steiner, 1968. Fantastic sensual and soft design. Kwok Hoï Chan Kwok Hoï Chan was born in Hong Kong and emigrated to England and later to France but always stayed loyal to his Chinese origins; his furniture resembles an imaginary alphabet borrowed from Chinese calligraphy. The chairs are reupholstered within the original specifications with use of the highest quality material and the use of a rich and exclusive wool fabric from the collection of C&C Milano. Very elegant shape and extremely comfortable due to it’s lower back support. In excellent condition.

Kwok Hoi Chan
Kwok Hoi Chan was an emblematic figure of international design who emigrated from Hong Kong to England and France. In France, he paired up with the Parisian manufacturer Steiner. Even though Chan was deeply invested in European and international design, he has always stayed loyal to his Chinese origins. His furniture resembles an imaginary alphabet borrowed from Chinese calligraphy. His trademark is a suspended tubular frame which is combined with an organic shaped seating.
