About the Item
Lovely pair of leather lounge chairs by French designer Raphael. These chairs have been freshly reupholstered in brown leather, with a snake skin impression, specially commissioned by us. The chairs have also had their foam and expensive, authentic 'Pirelli' strapping renewed as part of the upholstery process. Photos of the restoration process available on request.
This model was originally designed for the office of the President of the French postal service ' directeur Général des P.T.T' in. 1973.
The chrome frames have areas of user wear commensurate with originality, age and use, one frame has some small areas of chrome loss. We have decided to keep them original rather than replating them as the overall condition is still nice and the original chrome preserves the authentic vintage character and is further proof of originality.
The chrome frames can be easily and quickly removed for replating should the buyer wish to have them replated to perfect condition. One base has slightly smaller diameter adjustable circular feet to the other, the main bodies of the frames are identical, so this very small difference is not really noticeable, probably due to slightly different production periods or replacement/loss over the years.

- Condition:Reupholstered. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Freshly reupholstered in leather including new ,foam and authentic Pirelli strapping. Some small areas of chrome loss to one of the frames. Slight difference in diameter of circular adustable feet indicative of slightly different production periods.
