About the Item

A stunning and rare beech wood and cigar leather strap slipper chair in lovely condition. Attributed to Pierre Lottier for Valenti in the early 1960’s, this gorgeous low lounge chair will add a handsome and sophisticated Neoclassical look to any interior. This charming chair is especially rare as it’s made from beautifully toned solid beech wood. It features eye-catching thick, woven hide leather strapping, which beautifully complements the brass studding and golden beech wood with its rich cigar colouring. The sleek clean lines, lovely curves, X-form base and strong, wide interlaced leather straps with metal studded trim make this an icon of Neoclassical Design. All in all, this is a gorgeous and rare chair, which will suit any setting. CONDITION This is in very good vintage condition. The frame is solid and structurally sound and the cigar hued leather is in lovely condition, has been treated and polished and has only minor to-be-expected marks, which add to its aged appeal. There’s a hard-to-notice historic repaired hairline crack to the front left knee of the seat. Judging by the quality and design, we’re happy to say it’s attributed to Lottier. If well looked after, this should be just as breathtaking for another 60+ years – please see the photos. MEASUREMENTS Height – 72.5cm, Width – 45.5cm, Depth - 58cm, Seat Height to front – 38cm, Seat Width – 41cm, Seat Depth – 31cm, Weight – 5kg.
