About the Item

Vintage pair of lounge chairs, model F780 called Concorde, with their original table by Pierre Paulin (1966). Each armchair: width 56 cm, depth 76, seat height: 33 cm. Very good conditions. Pierre Paulin is well known for having been the favorite designer of French presidents. Both Georges Pompidou in the 70ies and François Mitterrand in the 80ies asked him to decorate the Palais de l’Elysée. In 1966, Air France asks Pierre Paulin to design a seat for the Concorde first class lounge. The F780 chair was born. Our vintage edition is one of the very rare set (if not impossible to find) constituted by two seats and their original table. Pierre Paulin's furniture were included in the permanent collection of MOMA in 2007 and a retrospective of his works was organized at the Beaubourg modern art museum in Paris in 2016.
