Armchairs, walnut, Europe, 1970s These beautiful armchairs, influenced by the artistic sensibilities of the Art Deco movement with a post-modern twist, are distinguished by their stately grandeur and curvilinear forms. The design is highly distinctive, emphasizing curves and flowing lines throughout. The wooden frame exhibits a sculptural quality, with multiple vertical slats or ribs that curve downward to form both the base and support structure. These slats give the chair an organic, almost rib-like appearance, reinforcing its fluid, curvilinear geometry. The armrests, which are elegant extensions of the wooden slats, gracefully curve upwards from the base, creating a continuous loop that seamlessly integrates with the chair's overall structure. The explicit round joints that adorn the sides add an additional graphic element, showcasing the meticulous craftsmanship involved in their creation. The seat and backrest cushions are generously padded and upholstered in black leather, providing a striking contrast to the lighter wood and ensuring a comfortable sitting experience.
