This dreamy Finnish duo from the 1940s is giving scallop-backed chic in creamy sheepskin, styled in the manner of the elusive and ever-mysterious Marta Blomstedt. With their scalloped oak bun front feet (seriously, how gorgeous are those feet?) and solid oak back legs, these chairs are the furniture equivalent of a vintage Chanel coat—timeless, sculptural, and utterly iconic.
Let’s talk provenance. Marta Blomstedt, one of Finland’s most influential modernist architects, was known for designing every detail of her interiors—including the furniture. Best known for her work on the Hotel Aulanko in the 1930s, she created some of the most forward-thinking interiors of the era. But here's the twist: there is no officially published collection of her furniture works. That means pieces like this—elegant, sculptural, and distinctly Finnish—are incredibly hard to definitively attribute but are often recognized and attributed as being in her style. These chairs practically shout Marta, and we're here for the mystery.
