About the Item

An uncommon High Back Rosewood and Leather Lounge Chair and Ottoman set designed by Sven Ivar Dysthe for Dokka Mobler Norway. A well documented design however as no tags are present. This is the more difficult to find 7001H model, the high back wing chair design with metal and rosewood frame and original black leather. Being offered as-is for restoration. Frame and down filled seat cushions in good original vintage condition, leather on shell has a rip at corner of each armrest and foam in shell and ottoman has dried out and leaking from underneath. Dysthe’s work has received a number of national and international distinctions, including a Gold Medal award at the Ljubljana Biennale for his Laminette chair, a prestigious Japanese G-Mark for good design and the Norwegian Classic Award for Design Excellence. Dysthe’s works have been collected by national institutions, such as the Victoria Albert Museum in London, the National Museum in Stockholm and the National Museum in Oslo.
