About the Item

An early example of the sculptural 'Etcetera' chair by Jan Eskelius, crafted in the 1970s. This iconic Swedish design has a Space Age influence, combining an organic shape and bold curves, wrapped in vibrant yellow upholstery. We elected to keep the original upholstery in order to allow our clients the option to customize this in the fabric of their choice. Upholstery services are available through our showroom (fabric + upholstery labor is not included in the purchase price). Sold and priced individually. Jan Ekselius, born in 1946, is a notable Swedish designer renowned for his contributions to furniture design and interior architecture. Ekselius gained recognition for his furniture pieces that blend sleek lines and organic forms, reflecting the design trends of the late 20th century. He is particularly well-known for his iconic seating designs, which often emphasize ergonomic principles. His ability to create visually striking yet practical furniture has made him a significant figure in the design world. In addition to his furniture designs, Ekselius has been involved in various architectural projects and collaborations, showcasing his versatility as a designer. Condition: Good overall vintage condition, with minor stains and discoloration to the upholstery. Reupholstery recommended; we have elected to sell this chair in its current state so the end user can select fabric. Upholstery services are available through our showroom (Fabric + Upholstery Labor is not included in the purchase price).
