About the Item

Created by Toshiyuki Kita in 1980, the Wink chair is a complex design based on the human body, with ergonomics and modularity as the guiding principles behind this lounge chair. This chair allows you to move from a sitting position to a reclining position in the blink of an eye. On Wink, we sit on the floor, and according to Eastern tradition, when the body sits on the floor, the mind rises. A contemporary interpretation by French artist Almost Free Services ALmost Free Services: Born and raised in the south of France, Mathieu Courbier works under the name AFS (Almost Free Services). He explores his own universe, a blend of art and design, through exhibitions and commissioned works. Most of his drawings resemble sculptures in which objects, characters, and flowers become stones, heavy rocks disconnected from time. AFS has collaborated with numerous brands around the world. The ÖLddesign gallery asked Almost Free Services to reinterpret this classic piece of post-modern design to create an even more vibrant piece of furniture. AFS added its personal touch in the form of a cushion and a pocket at the back for storing books or any other items needed to spend a few hours on the Wink. A cover made entirely of Cordura allows you to stay indoors or outdoors to take a nap in the sun or work creatively. It is the most comfortable chair for letting your mind wander. It is made from a new, ultra-technical fabric chosen by ALmost Free Services in two-tone black and olive gray Cordura®, 317 g/m² (made in Germany and used by the German army in the production of certain equipment). Cordura® is a registered trademark. The multiple functions of this fabric are impressive: water-repellent, waterproof, windproof, and slightly breathable thanks to a high-quality PU coating, and non-flammable. In addition, it has undergone tactical/military treatment to reduce the fabric's signature, making it less visible to night vision devices, thermal cameras, and infrared systems. The backrest features a headrest consisting of two reclining ear-shaped sections (Mickey :)) whose position can be adjusted like a car seat using two buttons on the side. Comes with a head-shaped cushion. Unique piece.
