About the Item

Immaculately-presented this identical pair from 'The Lounge Seating' series, originally called The 'New Weissenhof Chair', designed by husband and wife design partners Robert and Trix Haussmann both have impressive roots in modern architecture. Introduced by Knoll in 1988, featured a combination of soft and hard edges, producing clean, elegant lines, and superlative comfort. Each chair with cubic basic shape - a true classic of modern furniture design, and a sensational use of a exceedingly-modest footprint. Professionally reuphostered in a stately dark brown leather, features an admirable patina for those who love leather. Spectacularly sought-after Robert and Trix Haussmann creations, this lounge seating is the epitome of contemporary European furniture design, is of peerless quality, and exhibits detailing and execution of the highest standard. Examples of this legendary design are difficult enough to source. Note: For this Lounge Seating model, the couple got inspired by the Weissenhof Chair of Mies Van der Rohe (1928). Literature: Trix + Robert Haussmann, Edition Patrick Frey, published 2012, page 153.
