About the Item
An incredibly rare pair of restored sofa frames by the Great Henry Olko for his Willow and Reed firm, circa 1978. These stunning examples are from Olko's boutique "Breille" series. Expertly crafted Rattan construction with a airy and fluid silhouette. This particular seating series displays all of the design characteristics that makes this gifted Artist's work so memorable and special. An accomplished formally trained architect with a Master's degree from MIT, Mr. Olko was never satisfied with the ordinary; he routinely reached to achieve the spectacular. His furniture is far more than simple Rattan - it is Art! Important pieces designed to anchor an important space. Excellent restored condition. The rattan has aged to absolute perfection. The frames have been professionally cleaned and re-lacquered. The rattan projects a rich warmth and depth. All accent bindings are intact and complete. Inside width is 46.5 inches. Arm height is 22 inches. The price listed is for the pair.
