About the Item

Decorate a man’s office or study with this elegant Empire armchair. Hand-carved in France circa 1890 and built of solid mahogany, the desk chair stands on tapered legs ending with gilt bronze paw sabots and embellished at the shoulders with finely cast female bust mounts. The rectangular back with scrolled crest is decorated with a central gilt bronze foliate motif, adding a refined neoclassical touch. The seat, back, and armrests are upholstered with new black leather and finished with decorative brass nail heads throughout. The armchair is sturdy, comfortable, and in excellent condition with a rich, French polished patina. A sophisticated addition to any executive interior or masculine library. Measures: 25" W x 24" D x 37.5" H.
