About the Item

This is a Cardan Swivel Office Desk Chair, produced in the USA by Bernhardt Design in 2012. The listed price includes one chair, and we have several chairs available for purchase in this colorway. Their design includes a 5-star polished aluminum swivel base on dual wheel casters, and these examples have a pneumatic height lift function. The fully-padded shell seats are upholstered in Spinneybeck “Velluto Pelle” in “Lineoleum” Grey Leather, a custom upgrade. Each chair measures 26.5 inches deep, 26 inches wide, and is 34 inches high, adjustable up to 37 inches. The seat height is 17.75 inches at lowest, adjustable up to 20.75 inches high. The arm height ranges from 22.25 inches to 25.25 inches. There is some wear apparent on the arms and on the corners. There is a nice patina that has developed on the leather, and the bases have some scuffs and scratches. Overall, these chairs are in very good condition with light wear. Please see photos. Genuinely faulty goods will be replaced or money refunded on a case by case basis, however we must be advised of any faulty goods upon receipt of the item. It is the customer's responsibility to pay for return shipping and ship the item back to us. If the item is found to be faulty, we will also refund the postage cost. If there is no damage to the item, but a return is approved, the buyer will be responsible for both the initial and return shipping cost. It is at our discretion to refuse the refund of undamaged goods. If an order is placed and you would like to cancel the order, please notify us immediately. Any refunds will be processed via the same means that payment was made.

The great portfolio of Charles & Ray Eames is widely celebrated and serves as a model of inspiration for designers to this day. One of their most recognizable designs is the Aluminum Group line for Herman Miller from which these Soft Pad Executive Chairs were born. It is said that the Soft Pad variation was a design accident - cushions from the Eames Chaise found themselves draped over an Aluminum Group chair, and the rest is history. Whatever the story may be, the comfort of Charles & Ray’s Soft Pad seating perhaps rivals that of their famed Eames Lounge Chair. The Soft Pad collection consists of a Lounge Chair, a Low Back Management Chair, and this High Back Executive Chair. The design language is similar to the Eames Aluminum Group suite which sports a single “sling” of material which is tethered to two cast aluminum side rails and in this case, four plush cushions for optimal comfort.
