This is an antique schoolmaster's chair. An English, stout oak desk or elbow seat, dating to the Edwardian period, circa 1910. Superb chair, of thick stocks and institutional appeal Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Quality oak stocks present fine grain interest Finished in beautifully warm caramel hues throughout Gently angled back rest, the crest rail between a pair of square cut finials Recessed panel over a flat seat squab at a comfortable height of 46.5cm (18.25'') Serpentine arms of broad profile, raised upon gently tapering supports Square section legs, united by stretcher rails and gently splayed to rear This is a fine antique schoolmaster's chair, with a bold appearance and graced with appealing colour. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home or institution.
