About the Item
Beautiful and rare Elton model armchair designed by Torbjorn Afdal and manufactured by Bruksbo-Nesjestranda, Norway in the 1960's. The structure is made of solid palissander, in a deep color and has an impressive wood grain that combines elegantly with the cognac leather upholstery. This leather has acquired a beautiful patina over time and gives the chair a luxurious and comfortable look. Very good condition. It is a refined piece of furniture with a high quality of craftmanship.

Torbjørn Afdal
Torbjørn Afdal was one of the leading designers at Bruksbo Tegnekontor and in Scandinavia. Afdal became more well known when his furniture was bought by US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy and by the Japanese Emperor. In later years, he was granted the commission to design the parliamentary and chairs and tables to the courthouse in Oslo.
