Gorgeous burgundy tufted leather and Mahogany high-back executive armchair on casters by Maurice Bailey for Monteverdi Young, signed with date stamped (April 1977) makers label. The leather is incredible - vibrant, soft, supple and very high quality - the kind you don't see in todays manufacturing processes. This chair proves the saying: "They don't make them like they used to". Renown for their application of the Italian modernist movement in their designs, Monteverdi-Young paired this approach with old-fashioned craftsmanship, both of which these notions are evident in this expansive executive chair. Featuring a high back with channel style button tufting, upholstered arms and Mahogany base and casters, this commanding desk chair would add an air of notoriety to any space. The original manufacturing tag is found under the seat cushion with the date April 1977. The archetypal design from Maurice Bailey mixed with expert craftsmanship of Monteverdi Young makes this chair appropriate in a Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century Modern, Scandanavian Modern or Danish Modern home, office or penthouse apartment but could also look fantastic in a Contemporary or Post-Modern room.
