Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear even if it has been refinished or restored. Specifically, no outstanding flaws found. Please see photos, zoom in for details, and see long description as they are part of the condition report. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Early 21st Century. Class with SASS is IN SESSION!!! WOW!! Talk about grabbing your attention!!! An early morning meeting never looked SO GOOD!!! This is a marvelous vintage Node Task Chair by Steelcase comprised of a bright and fabulous orange molded plastic seat, a wonderful white molded plastic work surface held by a black metal swing arm attached to a black metal bracket under the seat, a black metal shaft, and a FANTASTIC black plastic five prong base with casters!!! We have 6 available that we are selling separately. The chair features adjustable seat height, adjustable height on the work surface, it swivels, AND it ROLLS!!! I mean… that crack of dawn class just became a bit livelier!!! Some of these Node Task Chairs came with cup holders… this one does not come with one however, if you want to purchase one, it’s an easy attachment. This set would be an incredible addition to any office, classroom, or work environment but we think it would be a great gaming chair too! OR… if you really love the chair but don’t really need the work surface, you can cut off the arm underneath and remove the work surface. It is not removeable without cutting it off, and although it sounds brutal… it’s not… LOL… and it’s unnoticeable!! Because without the work surface it would be wonderful at a game table or breakfast nook, or a desk, OR it would be fantastic used as extra seating in ANY room!! This chair simply SCREAMS with Modern MAGNIFICENCE and SUPREME Steelcase style!! Steelcase was founded as the Metal Office Furniture Company in 1912 by Peter M. Wege in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Metal Office Furniture Company's first products included fireproof metal safes and four-drawer filing cabinets which Wege invented and manufactured for the Macey Company. In 1914, the company received its first product patent for "The Victor," a fireproof steel wastebasket. The Victor gained popularity due to its light weight achieved through a patented process of bending flat steel at right angles to create boxes, and its ability to prevent fires at a time when smoking was common indoors, particularly in the workplace. In 1915, the company began manufacturing and distributing steel desks and in 1937, the company collaborated with Frank Lloyd Wright on office furniture. The partnership lasted two years and resulted in some of the first modern workstations. The company officially changed its name to Steelcase, Inc. in 1954 and became known as the leader of the furniture industry in the late 1960s due to the volume of its sales and in 1973, the company debuted the Series 9000 furniture line. Steelcase merged three of its subsidiaries, Brayton International, Metro Furniture and Vecta to form Coalesse in 2008. The three main brands of Steelcase Inc. are Steelcase, Coalesse, and Turnstone. The company's current headquarters was built in 1983 and is in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Superb Style, Fabulous Functionality, and a Spectacular Steelcase Reputation… This magnificent Node Task Chair by Steelcase has it ALL!!! This pair of club chairs is ready to be your new favorite vintage pieces and make a bold statement in any room you choose! Harvey Probber was born on September 17, 1922, in Brooklyn, New York. He began his love for furniture early and while attending high school he took a part-time job in a used furniture store and was inspired to try his hand at drawing ideas for furniture. Probber sold his first sofa design when he was just 16, for $10. After high school graduation, he accepted a job as designer for Trade Upholstery which was a small manufacturing facility. The 1940’s was the beginning of American modernism, a time characterized by young designers with talent, initiative, and a willingness to take risks with new ideas. Probber was one of an early band of pioneer designers in a field that included iconic names such as D.J. DePree of Herman Miller, Hans Knoll, Georg Tanier, and Jack Lenor Larsen. Probber established Harvey Probber, Inc., in 1945 and in the mid years of the twentieth century, Harvey Probber became one of America's leading designers. He favored exotic woods, highly polished lacquer, hand-rubbed finishes, and extravagant upholstery fabrics. In little over a decade, Harvey Probber, Inc. became one of the country’s leading contemporary furniture firms. His most significant design breakthrough was his modular seating concept. It was the first of its kind. He also introduced the “sling chair” and “nuclear furniture” which could be clustered and had interchangeable pieces. By the 1970s, Harvey Probber, Inc. had opened trade showrooms in major design centers across the country. His work was awarded two "Best of Neocon" Gold Awards from the Resources Council of the Institute of Business Designers for the Houston Chair...
