This refined pair of mid-century French desk armchairs was crafted in France circa 1960 and reflects the enduring influence of the Louis XV style, interpreted through the lens of high-quality mid-20th-century craftsmanship. Designed with comfort in mind, the chairs feature a notably wide and deep seat profile, making them especially well suited for use at a desk, writing table, or library workspace where extended seating is desired.
Each armchair is constructed of solid walnut, showcasing a warm, rich patina that accentuates the finely carved details throughout the frame. The shaped backs are fitted with single cane panels, framed by sculpted foliate and shell motifs along the crest rail and apron. The scrolled arms are topped with beautifully worn tan patinated leather armrests, trimmed with decorative nailhead studs, adding both visual contrast and practical comfort.
