Large Day Bed / Ottoman in Velvet by Irish Designer Jeff Aird.
This Grand Bloque ottoman is named 'the Big Block' for an obvious reason.
This particular version is upholstered in a diamond button tuft with Watts Of Westminster green velvet.
The filling is a firm feather wrap and it can come with or without wheels.
The tassels (or braids) are from Pierre Frey.
It is so comfortable and can be used in any setting, anywhere... so long as you have the space.
It literally invites you to lounge on it.
A headboard or just a pile of cushions can turn it into a perfect lounge bed, perfect for watching movies or hosting parties.
Jeff Aird is an Irish designer with a strong connection to Paris, from living and working there for many years.
Respect for Natural materials and for the know-how of Craftspeople is always at the heart of any Jeff Aird piece or project.
Jeff Aird began modelling installations of opulent woodwork by British icon Clive Christian in 2006; first in Dublin and then from a flagship showroom in Paris, leading to interior design projects of increasing scale and complexity in Saudi Arabia, USA, South Africa and all over Europe.
Tasked to create miniature wooden scale models and concept sketches of complete properties in Kyoto and Osaka for a famous Japanese family in 2013, Jeff opened a dedicated studio in Paris.
Bespoke stairways, porticos, intricate flooring, furniture, lighting made by outstanding artisans in Ireland, England, France, Italy have since been designed and shipped abroad by Jeff and his team, to be installed by the hardworking artisans who made them.
This combined responsibility of design and build, often in foreign places, has afforded Jeff Aird great experience in what works and what doesn’t:
