About the Item
A rare and an unusual wicker ottoman made between 1915 - 1920s by the Heywood Wakefield Company of Gardner, Ma. done n a beautiful green finish with with woven black and maroon red accents .This piece is in exceptional condition with new 4" cushioning done in Sunbrella Cilantro fabric. Unique to its design is that it was designed higher at its back and lower in front so as to give a chaise effect when used with a chair. It has a a woven wicker base beneath the cushion and a great addition woven at its front is a unique
decorative wicker cushion guard to prevent cushion slippage. Comfortable as a chaise or as additional seating for a conversation.
What makes this piece rare of course is that ottomans were overly used from relaxing and ones feet, sitting, children playing, pets and I'm sure using them as a quick step stool,.Because of this many of course didn't survive.
The ottoman being slightly slanted measures 28" L x 22" W. x 14.5" x 13. 5" ht. front and back height measurements.
