This exceptional pair of circa 1850 rocking chairs is attributed to Peter Cooper for R.W. Winfield, a firm celebrated for its innovative 19th-century iron furniture. Each chair features Winfield’s characteristic wrought-iron frame with elegantly curved runners, paired with channel-stitched black leather upholstery that has aged beautifully over more than 170 years. The sculptural iron form, distinctive sweeping base, and refined industrial detailing exemplify the groundbreaking metalwork for which Winfield was known.
