About the Item
South American modernism at its finest incorporating the finest materials. Solid intricately figured Rosewood and hard leather rocking chair. Dowel and mortise and tenon construction. All doweled sling leather seat and back. Circa 1960. Signed with a large round gold label on the front stretcher, Ebanisteria (furniture maker), T. Caivinagua, Cuenca, Ecuador. Original finish.
Good overall condition. Structurally sound and sturdy. Minor cosmetic wear to the rosewood. Some small stains on the leather seat and back. Some minor fading to leather due to age and use.
The chair measures approximately 32" deep x 25.5" wide x 33" high. The seat height is approximately 18" high.
