At the time, the press heralded it as “America’s First Modernistic Home.” Walter Von Nessen was born in Germany and studied with Bruno Paul. After immigrating to the United States, he rose to prominence as an architect. He designed furniture that was made by Nessen Studios in New York, as well as industrial fixtures manufactured by Chase Brass Copper Co., A.H. Heisey Co., and the Efcolite Cor
