About the Item

An impressive and most decorative French 18th century Louis XV Period Walnut settee. This stunning winged settee is raised on eight richly carved cabriole legs with bottom acanthus leaves and top cabochons amidst scrolled designs, while joined by handsome mottled stretchers accented with rosettes. The fanciful scalloped apron displays intricate Rocaille designs throughout, while three lattice designed reserves flanked by scrolls adorn the center of each seat. To each side are the scrolled Walnut arms, with fully upholstered sides, leading to the large scale upholstered back support displaying a triple arched and spurred mottled top band.
