About the Item
A beautiful and extremely elegant French 18th century Louis XVI period giltwood canapé settee. The settee is raised by seven delicate circular tapered fluted legs below striking block rosettes flanking richly carved recessed interlocking designs extending along the straight frieze. The cushioned arms at each side displays a most decorative baluster shaped column design with fine foliate and floral carvings with an elegant mottled band extending up the curved side and along the upholstered back with delicate beaded and Coeur de Rai designed bands.
