About the Item
A fine carved late American Empire settee in white paint. With a shaped back open at the sides and framed in raised foliate scrolls. The sloping curved arms with winged female busts and leaves ending in curved front legs with paw feet and square curved back legs. With a custom upholstered seat in a blue paisley pattern with matching loose seat cushion. Along with a pair of needlepoint accent pillows with Chinese vase motifs and velvet backs with zippers.

Condition: Please review the detail photos. Various signs of age and use include some cracks on the left protome and a chip to a leaf on the right protome. Gently worn frame with a few expected slight paint losses. Faded velvet on the pillows and faded fabric in general with the seat cushion back at the zipper being particularly faded and reupholstery is recommended. Despite the wear the settee retains a colorful and stylish presentation.
