About the Item

A stunning and unique pair of Italian 19th century Louis XV st. patinated and giltwood Venetian settees. Each settee is raised by elegant cabriole legs with finely carved foliate giltwood designs which extend along the scalloped shaped frieze with elegant giltwood fillets. The opulent scrolled upholstered arms display a large and finely carved floral rosettes with a giltwood center. The upholstered back support is removable and displays a most attractive shape and a mottled patinated border with a giltwood band and an impressive top carved foliate reserve. All original gilt and patina throughout.
